Killswitch Engage - Holy Diver

Finally. No photos...

This song is a cover of Dio's Holy Diver done by Killswitch Engage! The Caparisons in this video are just awesome. Can't wait for the day I own one... Anyway listen! Please? If you don't my efforts are all in vain...

I really hate myself for missing their concert when they were here in Canberra. It's like a once in a lifetime opportunity and i missed it! Argghhh I think I can never forgive myself...

If you're from Killswitch Engage or Roadrunner Records and wish that this video be taken off the site, do contact me. Don't sue me. I'm just a student sharing the greatness that is Killswitch Engage.

Oh shit!

Oh shit oh shit oh shit! Hope she didn't read this.
I only noticed today that I spelled her name wrongly. Haha my bad...

Concert Practice

The School Of Music. Looks Communist?

Steinway & Sons

Steinway & Sons again

Cool lights!

My friend Francis.
Check out the 'stache! Awesome!

No, thank you for your wonderful performance Mr 'Stache!

Don't run away so fast!

Went for a Concert Practice today. Classical music. Just to support my friend (and try to get a few cool shots) . All in all a good experience. I liked the piano piece done by my friend as well as the voice and guitar performance. Can't remember the names of the pieces of the top of my head. Anyways was pretty hard to get shots, seeing it's a concert and my camera makes that shutter sound when a shot is taken. I only took shots at the end, except for one. The one cropped above. His expressions are really hard to resist taking... Well I took it only because I was quite sure his voice would be louder than my shutter, which I later found out is a false statement. Haha oh well. Shots taken with ISO 1000, f/8, shutter speed 1/10. Should have gone with f/5.6. Sigh...

The actual concert is 2 weeks from now. Wonder how will I take shots then. Must improve! Don't like the shots I took today. I guess I don't have an eye for photography?

Trees

Taken quite a while back, on the way to the embassy. Originally taken in colour, but decided to edit it...

I have to stop lying to myself. You can't listen to music while studying.

I probably shouldn't update so often eh?

You can't get good Malaysian food in Australia, only decent ones...

Fuyoh. Disco in the tunnel?

It was only the Ambulance. I find it weird though. Pink and purple lights? Do they bring the ambulances to parties?

Marsha took this. She's better than me...

She took this too...

And this one too... I like this one the most...

Sorry uncle. Haha!

Ais Kacang in Australia. Won't get this here 10 years ago...

Sorry again. Haha! Hope you enjoyed your cendol.

Taken at SinMa at Kingsford. Supposedly has good Malaysian food. My verdict? Okay lar... The closest you can get in Australia. The chai tau kueh was pretty good. But others were not to my liking... Hokkien mee had a bit of the lard-ish thing. But still it didn't meet my expectation... Oh well... Again, hope you enjoy the pics. Nothing much to look at I know, but I'm learning... And in my defence, indoor lighting wasn't THAT good... Excuses haha!

Today's sermon

Went to church today, it being Sunday and all. Hey wait... I don't go to church BECAUSE it's Sunday. I go to church on Sunday because they have services on Sunday. There's a difference. Anyway... Pastor Jerry Sevelle (I googled and it's Savelle. Hillsong screwed up? But he's suppose to be a regular visitor. Hmmm) was at Hillsong today and he preached about barriers that we have set for ourselves and how we should try to overcome them. So I was thinking... Hmmm... Maybe I should get rid of that barrier that I have set for myself, and go after the girl that I like. *few seconds later* Hmmm maybe I'll wait for a few more years... *runs away*

Current mood: Bored.

Oh I so hate to brief the world on what I did. That's not the way I want this blog to be like. But I've got to tell this. I went to see a small production of Annie at the Blue Mountains yesterday night. And I lugged my DSLR to the show only for them to announce before the show that photography is not allowed. I wouldn't have got nice shots from my seat, but boy I was a little annoyed still. I was so tempted to use my phone to take shots at the end just because I could. But haha the show was reasonably entertaining, though I wouldn't say it's of professional standard, but hey it cost only $30, so I thought I should at least give them some respect and abide their rules. Hahahaha

Back to work.

初恋限定 (Hatsukoi Limited)

Sigh... It seems that Hatsukoi Limited has come to an end, and only after 32 chapters. I guess I'll miss the series.

If you're interested, you can get it here.

Strong Impressions

Have you felt like the world doesn't need you
It feels like no one cares if you live or die

I probably am nothing to you
Never was and never will be
I guess I've never made a strong impression
So that is why I'm invisible, no one sees me

So let's change that all right now
Let's make you remember me
I'll kill myself right in front of you
Scarring you, never to forget me

I jest I jest I kid I kid
I would never do that to you
I can never let myself harm you
Or inflict pain or scar you

Help me find my place in the world
Will you take me in?
What does it take for you to stretch
Your hand to rescue me
All I need is you to be in my life
To walk by my side

Hmmm conclusion of this post: Joshua can't write songs...

Sandboarding

Taken from the bottom of the dune.
Wooo can see the sand fly mid air!
I must say, Caucasian people are more photogenic compared to Asians.
I take that back. Just kidding. Fuyoh look at the sand fly! Kite flying?
Old photos taken during the holidays. That's like a month ago, maybe more? Anyways nothing special. Just posting for the sake of posting something... Hmmm it seems like this blog is getting more and more boring...

Sexy...

Mr Ang: Oik! Baju kurung kamu terlalu sexy! Demerit 10 point!
Seriously? WTF? ROFL LOL... But that's what they say...
If in Malaysia the girls wear the sailor suits like in Japan then yeah I agree. But seriously... Baju kurung and the pinafore? The baju kurung is like wearing an oversized shirt and the pinafore just doesn't do wonders to the curves. OK fine, she was talking about the blouse being transparent. Well it would be if and only if you wear the same blouse everyday for 5 years. Maybe that's a little extreme but seriously, I think the way she thinks is so goddamn ridiculous. I think Munirah must have been looking at Chinese School boys with their shorts and she mumbled under her breath: "Sexy..." and so happen someone heard her and so he has to cover up. Haha...

Had exam today. Microeconomics. How did I fare? Well it was harder this time, both the paper and the topics that were covered in the exam. So I think I'll be redeeming this paper... Anyway today I also meddled around with this program called Photoscape. It's free. Try it if you want.

Mantis found in a bunch of fan shue yip that was given by some aunty. Forgot her name. Damn hard to get the thing to focus...

Random shots taken in black and white. If your eyes are sharp enough, you'd notice on the bottom left, I've got Wang Wang biscuit and Tau Sar Peng... Haha

An edit of one of the previous shots...

Way back to Canberra

One Hokkien Mee coming right up!

This was all taken on my way back to Canberra. As usual, I had to wait at the station for approx 40 minutes, doing nothing most of the time. But at least this time, there was some entertainment. Haha. Well I don't know what's the name of that instrument, but I'm guessing it's similar to the pot pan thingy that I've seen on TV that originates from Jamaica or one of those African countries. Well maybe I'll google that later. And it was her first time busking, EVER! Well that's what the paper says. From the time I was standing there waiting for the bus, quite a few people talked to her and haha the baldy was hitting on her. Lol JKJK... Well the shots are very unprofessional, and I wouldn't say that their good in quality. But what to do, I like walked and shot the pics. Walk, then stop very quickly, shoot, then move on... Maybe when I stop, I still got momentum, so it turned out blurry. Lolz...

Last two shots taken from the bus. Probably could have gone with a higher shutter speed. But then again my hands are tad bit shaky so maybe it'll still be blur. I dunno. I'm a noob. This was taken when the bus was going towards Chinatown area from the train station. In front on the left is Paddy's Market, and on the right where the neon red light is, there's like a arch or gateway of some sort. Probably the start of Chinatown or something. I'm not sure.

Hope I've managed to share a little of Sydney with you readers. Sorry for low quality pics, but regardless I hope you enjoyed it.

I'm an arrogant cocky b*tch! LOL

I've been told that people (or a person rather...) think that I'm dao, which means cocky and arrogant in some chinese dialect. Now I find that rather amusing as it is shocking. I wonder if people really think of me like that?

Sure I don't have many friends, but you think I want that meh? People don't want to be my friends mar... I'm not popular or good looking so they don't want to friend me lar... So because they don't want to make the effort to know me, I should make the effort to know them instead is it? Is that what you're saying? Hmm? So I have to try to make them like me or something? That's kinda sad in my opinion. I guess in that sense, I'm proud. But why do you want me to stoop that low?

You're probably thinking, what does being dao and having no friends have in common? What's the link between them, why one minute I'm talking about being dao, the other minute I'm talking about having no friends. Don't ask me. I dunno.

Sigh... Whatever lar...

PS. I'm not posting this so that you all can console me and what not. However I would like to know what you think.

Hahaha quite dumb eh, this post...

Camera shy?

Apart from the looming exams, what serves as a deterrent for me from leaving the comforts of my room and take photos with my trusty Canon is the fact that people might smash the lens of the camera into the lens of my glasses... What am I talking about? Well if curious read here.
I guess we live in times where we must be more conscious and suspicious. It's a jungle out there... And I guess I can relate as to why people are so hostile.
Sigh... I just want to get a few nice shots, that's all...

Actuarial joke.

Just so this place don't seem so dead...

It's duck season! 2 actuary go hunting. And being actuaries and not hunters, their aim sucks. Anyway they saw a duck flying and the actuaries tried to shoot the duck, but the first one shot 10 feet on the left of the duck while the other one shot 10 feet on the right of the duck. Not being able to get the duck down from the sky, it was weird as they high five-ed and decided to grab a Corona to celebrate. Why are they rejoicing? Are they retarded or something?

So what do you think? [This is the part where you guess why...]

It's fish.

Disclaimer: Any use of WTF or wtf on this blog is not intended to mean 'What The F*ck' but instead 'What The Fish'. So when you see WTF or wtf, I'm not swearing. Just thought I get it clear.

A Long Day

Oh just yesterday I went back to the Malaysian Embassy. Since I feel reluctant to pay for a taxi to get there and neither do I want to take the bus as I'd still need to walk a fair bit, I rode my bike there. So I think I got on the bike at about 10-ish and slowly peddled my way there. And mind you, it's been a long time since I've ridden on a bike. Or even done any exercise. So the journey was quite a demanding one for me. Well not really. Only at the parts where I had to climb. Crossing the roads was scary too. And driving beside cars... I thought of using the bike lane, but after seeing the cars going so near the bike lane, some even going on it, I opted the pedestrian lane. It was quite nice cycling there though... Got to take a pic. But wasn't really satisfied with it. Wanted to take more, but had to rush to the embassy...

On the way I saw 2 people in front of the People's Republic of China's Embassy protesting. Well I wouldn't say their protesting... They were just sitting there, meditating or praying or something... And they hung up pro Falun Gong banners and stuff... Later I found out that other people are protesting in other states as well from some dude from Melbourne's blog. Seems like the turnout was pretty good there, especially compared to the one here in Canberra, the capital of the nation. 2 people wey... Kinda sad don't you think? I actually thought of taking pics of them, but like stated above, I had to rush...

Anyway made my way there and got the number and sat down, a bit sweaty... My number said 11. So I thought, this won't take long, seeing as the man being served is number 8. Boy was I wrong. Number 9 belonged to this Aunty. See was most probably renewing her passports for, I'm guessing here, her 3 daughters and maybe her... Aiyoh she had to ask so many questions... Her second daughter couldn't renewed her passport cause she's 12 already so she needs to have her IC to renew the passport, but seeing as she turned 12 here in Australia and her passport is expiring, she can't go back to get her IC. Lolz... I don't know what's she suppose to do. In the end she can't have her passport renewed. So this aunty took like more than half and hour to get her business done. I think she didn't even fill in the forms prior to her turn. So that's a lot of time taken up. So with nothing to do, I had took the Financial Review that was provided at the embassy. You know how papers provided are like clamped by this papan like thing? So that the pages don't come out? It's like in hotel lobbys? Well it's clamped so I can't read properly as some parts of articles are covered. So was kinda annoyed. Gave up and just sat there. And I did what Kai did. Eavesdrop. Lolz... This guy suddenly turned around and talked to these 2 people. And since I'm bored, I shall tell you what I can remember.

The dude, he's from Malaysia and is 25 years old. Studied in Sydney and went back to Malaysia. Came back here when he was 20 and has been in Australia for 5 years already. He works in the IT department of Commonwealth Bank on George St in CBD Sydney. He came with his mom, who came to Australia to visit for 2 weeks. I think it was 2. She works at an insurance company in Malaysia. The dude has a sister who's coming to Australia next year and going to study MassCom. He and his mom rented a car and drove to Canberra from Sydney at 6.00am. She slept on the way and he had only the CD in the player to keep him company throughout the journey. He drove. They plan to drive around Canberra before picking their passports at 3.00pm.
The 2 ladies that were sitting behind him (in front of me) met at a speed dating event. They were both avoiding this crazy lady who was too perky, she could have been high on pot. The crazy lady's name was Bubbles. One of the ladies is from Malaysia. She went to NZ to study and later came to Australia. Her parents fly between NZ and Sabah( or was it Sarawak?) as her sister is currently studying in NZ. The other lady is an Aussie. She works at Zurich Insurance. She moved out of her place 6 months back as construction went on in front of her building and it was shaking her place and she didn't like the location anymore. She has a full drivers license but hasn't driven in 2 years already. Oh and both ladies had grapes. Well that's all I can remember on the top of my head.

Well finally the Aunty at the counter was done. Next was this guy. Not the guy mentioned above. Took barely 5 minutes. Just got the thumbprint on, signed his paper, handed his passport and the relevant forms and required photocopy of IC. So fast. Then next the guy mentioned above. Same procedure. After that, finally my turn. FINALLY. Then the guy at the counter said: "Eh? You should have just come to the counter and collected it. Don't need to wait." WTF? Lolz..

So now I got my passport that says:
Pejabat Pengeluar/ Issuing Office
HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA
CANBERRA
Canggih leh?

On the way back the bloody bike chain came off the gears. Had to get my hands dirty. So annoying. Really considering getting a fixie...

Made it back and had to start work again as I had an assignment due at 5.00pm. Handed it in at 4.55pm So last minute leh? Ran all the way to the office.

I can't believe you stayed till the end. You either have no life or too much time on your hands or unbelievable concentration.

Bored

With most of my assignments done, I feel like suddenly I have so much time. To the point where I think of doing my revision. You might think: Hey what's so wrong about that? Well let me tell you, I've always been a person who always prepare in the last minute. So far in my 1 year plus of uni experience, I haven't actually studied except during the week before exam. I guess that explains the credit average, but it's just not easy for me to sit down and look at a book or a stack of notes for a few hours...

With nothing to distract me except my guitar, I shall now live a boring life. Life will consist of:
1. Going to lectures and tutorials.
2. Doing tutorials.
3. Playing guitar. And I'd probably be playing scales only. So boring right?
4. Reading my weekly dose of Naruto, Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Air Gear and Hatsukoi Limited.
5. Tearing the pages off the calender.
6. Going for Bible study and church( though I wouldn't really consider it church).
7. Listening to iPod.
8. Taking pictures of my wall.
9. Reading Bible and a few other books.
10. Breathing.

Wah only 10 things... And note that I put breathing there just to make the list reach 10.

Life is such a drag. Well a month to exams. Need to concentrate on studies anyway...

Malaysian Embassy Visit!

Went to the embassy today. Got the passport renewed. And I found out something about me today. I'm 170cm short. Yes taunt me. I know I'm short.

I have to say our embassy here is so not really not as glamorous as the other countries'. Most look modern, tasteful and have guards at the gates and stuff. Ours has the humongous emblem on it and the architecture looked unappealing. The colour was also pretty dull and the place seemed dead. And we didn't even had guards at the gates... Well I suppose nobody's gonna try to blow the place up or something, so there is no such need. It was kinda weird to watch TV1 there too. And while I was at the counter, I noticed that some lame exercise video was on.

Seems like I'll need to cycle all the way there because I didn't have time to go back due to class. I was lucky to have my friend drive me there since he rented a car for his taxi examination. Oh well it'll be the first time I ride a bike in Australia.

Passport photos

Got passport photos taken today... I thought passport photos are standard, but apparently different countries have different requirements. From what the lady said, the Greeks and Chinese are really anal retentive. Must get face measurement right and stuff. And I just noticed that on the High Commission website, the photos must be taken with a blue background and mine has a white one. Oh well... try my luck tomorrow. Cos the Consulate in Sydney's website say blue or white can... We'll see tomorrow. If they say cannot, maybe I should say "Malaysia Boleh!"

I need to get a camera USB cable thingy...

Why ask me such a question?

Went for dim sum today. Dim sum. Nothing special right? But that's not what this post is about.

My friend's girlfriend asked me something. The question was...: 'Are you gay?" ZOMG WTF?

I'm gonna hide in a corner now...

If you're angry or feel used or just unappreciated, you might relate.
And if you're wondering, no I don't feel that way. Posting just because I like the song.

Haven't posted here in a while. Will get to it soon. Once this dreaded week ends.
