It's cold, so...

Hot...

The weather's starting to get cold. Autumn finally is here. Good reason to get a new jacket or hood right? Lolz... I so want this. And I don't mind having the model to go with too.

Exam Blues...

Got an exam in about 16 hours? Sure it's redeemable, but the chances of me doing better here is greater than the chances of me doing better in my finals. Still I don't feel confident. I definitely didn't study enough. Didn't do enough exercises. And I also don't have enough time (or more specifically times when I feel in the mood and ready to study) to get my work done and to be up to date. Damn... I really need to bring up my average. I don't want to be stuck in an accounting firm, not that there's anything wrong with that, but I would definitely prefer a life which is more competitive. And that's why I need a higher average. God help me.

Economics, how I loathe thee. Maybe I should have done Art. Or maybe Engineering. Or Medicine. Nah... Not Medicine. I'm not doctor material.

Plus doctors generally don't earn enough so that I can indulge in guitars and comics and consoles and stuff. Damn I'm a geek.

EDIT: 5.35pm: It's over! Not very confident but hopefully I can get at least 8 out of 10. Please? Pretty please?

ERFWORLD!

Just to keep my blog fresh, check this out!

ERFWORLD!

I have to say this comic is pretty good.Actually pretty good is like the worlds biggest understatement. You'd probably find it a bit hard to understand unless you're into D&D, which I have no experience in either. But storyline's great, art's great! What more could you ask! This is probably not worth mentioning, but it was recognized as one of the Top 10 Graphic Novels of 2007 by Times.

Keep up the booping awesome work Rob Balder and Jamie Noguchi! I know what I'll be doing every Tuesday and Saturday.

Dream State - Change

Alarm sounds, eyes open, another day begins
Your routine life awaits you
I'm only getting older
I'm only getting older

I've spent too long trying to please everyone
It's time I got selfish and did something
Don't need your opinions, can't hear your objections
Like it or not, this is who I am

Go to work and pretend I'm someone that I'm not
Just turn and nod, do what they say
You said I could be anything I want
If I give it all I have
Well this is my life and these are my dreams

Hope you like! I wonder if people listen to the music I post... Well I think most of us can relate to this song.

I want to shred, but I can't even play this solo...

Something for you, my dear readers to listen to.

I finally started learning this song today, after reading some 13 year old kid saying that he can solo this song! I cannot lose to small kids... But damn I'm not fast enough...

Oh well...

This is what I call empowering the Malays!

I find this hard to believe. Never in my life did I actually for once think of it as a possibility. Things will be so different from here on out, even though it's just in Penang. But still... Wahhhhh!

The Penang Umno Secretary says that Malays would be angry. But I think I would encourage Malays to take this as a challenge. We all know how inefficient the NEP is. In an age where the world is getting flatter and flatter and other countries are getting more and more competitive, this is what we need in order for us to compete on a global level. And now Malays can't be called lazy or that they don't deserve what they have. Now they can truly say that their achievements are product of their own sweat and tears.

Be proud! The nation has high expectations of you!

Snort and Scratch....

I have an addiction. Yes an addiction. I love Pocky! I think I spent if I'm not mistaken almost $8 just on these 4 boxes. 2.8*8= RM22.40! Walauwey...

Don't know what to put here.

I have to say I have heard a lot of funny news over the few days.
1. Samy lost!
2. Samy's still MIC prez! WTH just retire lar. You're just bringing MIC down with you.
3. Pak Lah still wants to be numero uno.
4. Dr. Mahathir admitted he's wrong.
5. Selangor is no longer BN territory.
6. My friend went to the police to file a report in case his roommate might file a rape report against him.
7. My friend/ classmate ( I'm not sure what he'd consider me as...) just got married. He's only 2 years older than me and he's married, while I on the other hand have yet to even be in my first relationship. ZOMG I sound so desperate...

Weird...

Back in the comfy leather chair...

It seems like Pak Lah will be holding on to his position. Kudos to him for not succumbing to the pressure around him. I wouldn't say I'm happy that he's still going to be the prime minister, and neither would I say that I'm sad about it either.

I mean, come on. If it's not him then who? I don't think anyone else can do a better job. Najib? No thank you. I might end up lying on the floor with my blood all over some keris because of this Islam Extremeist. But it's not like I'd delight at the fact if one of the opposition became the prime minister if they had won this election. Anwar? I'm not so sure considering his history of (alleged? well whatever. not taking chances here) buttplugging. Then again his sexuality has nothing to do with national affairs. But still, I don't think Anwar would make a good prime minister. Chief opposition leader? Yes.

I still feel uncertain about the way things are going. It's like playing a guessing game. What's gonna happen next? It's so uncertain. That's why Malaysian stocks fell I guess... So I guess it's like how it is after every Pokemon episode: To be continued...

Post Malaysian General Election 2008 Ramblings

Election is over. Results are in. Barisan National really was forced to eat dirt. It was as if the Malaysians are saying: Don't so l*n si lar. See what happen now?

Well I guess it's good to have a fresh change. Will the country be headed in a new direction? Is it for the better? Or for the worse? Will there even be any change other than the new faces that sit in the comfy chairs in the parliament? We'll just have to wait and see.

All we can do now is just pray and hope that the 2008 General Election would bring a better future for Malaysia. Maybe then less people would want to migrate?

In closing, I have one last thing to say: Samy lost! ROFL LMAO PWNED!

Role Call!

Just out of curiousity, do you read my blog? If you do, leave a comment. I just want to know who my readers are. And to make sure I'm not talking to myself.

Blog Elevator Music

What am I talking about? I'm talking about blogs with music playing in the background. I'm talking about their owners who seem to enjoy forcing their music taste down their readers' throats. I'm talking about those bloggers who seem to love wasting my bandwidth on songs I don't want to hear.
So be a dear and help me save a few cents on internet fees...

Or maybe I should just stop random blog surfing.

When I say "Metal Up Your Ass", what comes to mind?

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Quasimodo

What would you say if I said I like you?
What would you feel if I said I love you?
Would you feel disgusted?
Would you feel afraid?
Would you avoid me?
Would you abuse me?
Would you refuse me?
Would you reject me?
Would you throw that Valentine I gave you?
Would you tear up that letter I sent you?
Would you forget that song I sang for you?
Would you rip apart my heart I offered to you?

Are you just gonna watch me bleed as my heart bleeds for you?
Will you just let me die as I cry out to you?
What am I to you exactly, just tell me now?
I sick of all this pain, I can't take it anymore!
My back facing you, I walk away from you!
Goodbye Miss Esmerelda, I hate loving you!

JQ66 February 17th 2008

Sigh...

Will be heading to Australia again. Notice I didn't say heading back? Well I'm definitely not very ecstatic about the fact that I'm leaving Malaysia. The fact that I won't be seeing my friends and relatives for a while leaves me with an aching heart. The fact that I won't be able to eat my favourite foods leave me with a craving appetite.

Damn...

To all the Teddies, will miss you all. Well hope to see you all soon, but I'd probably won't see the UK ones until a very VERY long time. Hope to see Chuan Shen in Melbourne in a few months. Remember to spread GA propaganda before leaving!

To all my friends from church, that is if any of you read my blog, which I highly doubt, God bless you all and hope to see you all real soon. And I pray, while trying not to be corny, that your faith in God and Jesus will be your guiding light as we walk around in this mess of a place we call Earth.

To my Standard 1-3 classmates, namely Sean, forgive me for not keeping in touch! Sorry Sean! I feel like I've somewhat betrayed your trust. Some more you're like my first ever friend. What a terrible and hopeless friend I turned out to be. Hope to meet up when I'm back, that is if you're still in Malaysia.

To my other friends, be you from college or school or church, I really hope that you have a blessed life and the next time I see you on the road or in the mall, I can hear how you have experienced goodness and joy in your life, be it in your careers, family life, studies, and relationships.

With that I say: See ya punks in 10 months time!

Gong Xi Fa Cai 2008

I suppose I'm in some sense obliged to do a CNY post so here it goes.

Been reading some blogs and many people complain about how there's nothing to do when you're back in your hometown. There's no internet connection for some, while others are left to do nothing but sit eat and watch TV, me being one of them. Thank God for Astro too.

However one has to remember that how important the Chinese New Year should be. It's the only time that all our relatives can conveniently meet up and just get to know each other. To be able to just sit down and have a meal together is a luxury. Many of our mainland brethren are unable to go back to their hometowns this year. Many of our friends studying overseas would be too busy to celebrate the new year. For us, those living in Asian countries should delight in the fact that we have a holiday for Chinese New Year!

And be thankful if your grandparents are still alive and well and able to celebrate the new year together. Just to be able to receive that red packet from them, regardless of how little or how much they give you, is a blessing already. I really wish that my grandparents on my dad's side of the family are still alive. All I can do know is hear the stories that my aunts and uncles and my dad have to tell me about them. And not just your grandparents, but all your relatives. Be thankful that they're alive for you'd never know when their time comes to an end.

I don't want to be naggy, or at least to be more naggy than I already seem to be, so I shall end this issue of Jo's ramblings. Just want to wish all the people of the world a Happy Lunar New Year and may the new year mark the dawning of a hope and a future that would bring happiness and joy in your life.

Switchfoot Live In KL: The Aftermath

Switchfoot Live In KL
This is not a review.
It's been a while since I've been to a concert, not counting church concerts and the like. Anyway, the verdict? It was pretty good. I can't say awesome because well I didn't enjoy myself as much as I could have. It's just this annoying chick just pushes her way through and keeps pushing me until I keep leaning back and having to lean on my cousin for support lest I fall. The dude behind me was shouting excessively, and when it's time to jump and I jump, he pushes me. Sigh. At first I was pretty front, but at the end of the concert I was quite a distance away from my friends. Was pushed back. And to top it off, the concert started like an hour late. Typical of Malaysians... And I think Malaysians are easily starstrucked, and they'll like drool all over their shoes at the sight of a famous person. Lolz...

Ok now the music. First we had Love Me Butch opening. Well I guess LMB isn't for everybody. The crowd wasn't very responsive. And next up we had Altered Frequency. Frontman Andy really put up a great show. Well the joke was lame and I shan't repeat it, but all in all it was fun! When it was done Switchfoot were next. To be honest, I felt disheartened when a few people in the crowd were like asking the local acts to finish quicker so that Switchfoot could come on faster. It's quite saddening that very few people support the local music scene. Anyway, Switchfoot! Well the frontman Jon looked high. Lolz. Was pretty funny to watch. But they rocked hard. Real hard. I feel kinda ashamed for thinking that they weren't heavy enough.

All in all it was a great night. Hope to be able to go to more gigs like this.

Oh yeah, to the chick who got the SG, I love you-r guitar! Let's hook up? LOLZ...

Bullet For My Valentine: Scream Aim Fire

Saw this in Tower Records today. Tempted to buy, but alas it was not meant to be...

Anyway this is Bullet For My Valentine's latest album: Scream Aim Fire. Well to me, BMFV is great. Not too heavy, not too light. Just right, like Baby Bear's chair, porridge and bed. But I guess BMFV isn't for everyone.

Below is their latest single from the album which shares the same name with the album: Scream Aim Fire!

Want to watch the real music video? Click here!
Well I can't embed the actual music video so what's embedded is actually just the song.

Hair-y sad situation. My hairs left me for the saloon floor.

I cutted my hairs! And when I told myself I'm not going to cut it again until I come back from Australia. Well what's done is done. The verdict? I'm not satisfied. It's too puffy and spiky on the top. And I can't do anything about it as I'm not exactly familiar with using hair products. Oh well, all in all, I guess it was still worth my RM23.00. My only wish is for my fringe to grow longer faster.

Enough of all that hair obsession. Just use a cap to cover it.

Switchfoot Live In Malaysia

Finally got it. But to be honest, I'm looking forward to seeing Love Me Butch more than Switchfoot. Oh!

To those who are going, better start memorising lyrics so that you won't seem like you went to the wrong concert.

Insulted or Marginalised?

Saw Puan Noorliah today while dropping off the laundry at the dobby in SS14. She didn't recognize me, saying I was shorter and my hair wasn't as long. But somehow, I doubt she even remembers me. I feel brushed aside, but whatever.

Ate Pan Mee at SS19. Some guy came and asked for donation for a home and was selling Chinese New Year cards. When he went to our table where me, my mom and sisters were sitting, he addressed us as "siew che" or maam in cantonese. I was like: "Should I feel insulted or marginalised?" And mind you, I already got a hair cut. Did I mention that?

Weird day today is.

8/1/2008 - 16/1/2008

To those who miss me, well I'm back in Malaysia once again.

Would upload photos on my Vietnam/Siam Reap trip, but I have no means... So all I can say about the trip is Angkor Wat was cool, shooting with and AK-47 is cool, and crawling in Củ Chi Tunnels was cool. Other than that, Vietnam and Cambodia was just OK.

Call our family crazy, but after we touched down, we went straight to The Gardens. Got myself a pair of Clydes, drooled over some Evisus and after that we went to Jalan 222 to eat some Ah Hwa Hokkien Mee.

Now don't blame me if my post seems stupid and pointless, but it's for the sake of my friend Qi Hong who once upon a time complained that some of us don't update as often as he does.

Just kidding.

Just a few alphabets that form words that form sentences that form 2 paragraphs.

New Year Resolutions. We all make them don't we? And o how hard do we strive to keep them during the first week of the New Year, but just seem to forget all about it as we get more and more busy with our daily lives. But new year resolutions are nothing more than guidelines we set out for ourselves to change our bad habits and cultivate good ones, and we all know how hard it is to do that.

Regardless, let's venture into this New Year with a sense of empowerment and that we'd be able to break free from all our entanglements and leap across all those walls overshadow us and leave us in the dark.

Not as pro as JS. Duh~

Just some random pics after the rain. Only so few that can be considered ok...

Hiccups

I am not sure why but I had approximately 6 seperate cases of the hiccups today. 5 yesterday. Could it be my coughing, or the supplements I had to take because of the cough? Hmmm...

*Hiccup*

It's seriously driving me crazy, especially when all those remedies don't work but you still try them. This is like the first time I've had it in a year. And 2 days in a row?

STOP PLEASE?

Jo's Wishlist V 1.0

Since Qi Hong made a Want List, I thought, why not I give it a shot?

1. Nike SB Takashi II Dunk Low

I mean what's there not to like about this pair of kicks? I just like the flowery pattern, gives it a sophisticated feel, without ruining the whole "It's a cool pair of sneakers" vibe, and then there's that silver swoosh!

2. Kiks Tyo Check My Kiks Tee

What better way to show off your new pair of sneakers with a shirt like this?

3. Kiks Tyo Christmas Set

Actually who wouldn't want to wear a tee with a hot model on it? Wait, don't answer. I might not like it. Actually this one isn't as nice as the previous Aki's but hey, hot model plastered all over my shirt, good enough for me!

4. HOKKIEN MEE
This is actually what I'm craving for THE MOST!

[Insert Intelligent Title]

Canberra certainly has so few hot chicks/attractive females (Choose the one that is the least degrading or most appealing to you). Everybody says so. And it was very apparent today. They probably say the same thing about guys but that doesn't really concern me now does it? Anyway went to Sydney today with my parents. Didn't do much. Just ate Dim Sum and walked a bit. Pass by Espionage, wanting to buy a new pair of sneakers.... And saw a really hot asian chick. If you were in Sydney on 22 November 2007 wearing a light green top and fishnet stockings and had great hair, please leave me a message. I want to know how you got your hair to look like it did. LOLZ. Anyway back to Earth. Wait. Nothing interesting happens on earth. LALALA~

Another random and useless post by yours truly.

Farewell G204

As I left my room on Sunday, seeing my room empty and clean just as it was 9 months back, I kinda felt weird. It's weird knowing that you'll never see the same view from that window again, or to hear the loud engine of the rubbish truck at 3 in the morning. I'm really gonna miss that room... I feel sad. =.="

Looking forward to the holidays ahead!

Trying to learn to read newspapers ( Don't be surprised. I can't read newspapers properly!) and financial magazines.

STAT2001, have mercy...

3 Hours to D-Day. Need to stay alive. Wonder if the Starbucks helps... God help me...

Update:

Half an hour to midnight. Reading time starts at 9.15am. And I'm seriously f*cked. I thought I could cover everything I need by today, but I still haven't. Time is running out and I think probability of failing for me is seriously high. But probably failing a subject is what I need right about now. Life has no discipline, no bounds, no structure. Studying without those limits is just impossible for me. Probably after failing this paper, I'll be able to be more focus, and have more drive and motivation so that I won't repeat this ever again. Sometimes in life, you just have to fall only to know what it's like to stand back up again. However, all this words that are coming out of my mouth, are they just to justify the lack of motivation and ambition I have in my life? Are they just the morphine to the pain and suffering that I have to face if I fail this paper? Is it to give a reason as to why me or my parents shouldn't feel ashamed and disgraced at this failure?

You're probably thinking, why the hell are you typing all of this when you could be studying you dumbf*ck? Well like how you described me, I'm not very wise at times. And all this while, my whole entire life, I don't think I can honestly say I have worked hard for anything in life.

Oh well, screw all this bullshit. I think I'll just concentrate on passing tomorrows paper and get on with my life. If I fail, well I'll just have to waste an elective on this same course next year.

Please forgive my repulsive language. It is utterly disgraceful and distasteful, I have to admit. But even writers are allowed to express themselves in this undignified manner, so I don't see why I can't too.

Update 2:
Just came back from the exam, and I can only think of one word: "SHIT!" I think everyone in the hall was thinking of that word as well, or somewhere along those lines.

At least it's over.

Panadol to the rescue! (Fingers crossed.)

Jo vs STAT 1031 Assignment 2

I just finished my Introduction to Actuarial Studies Excel Assignment, and let me tell you, it was so so frustrating. I think my words alone might not be able to justify the intense emotions of hate and irritation I had for the assignment. Imagine running a bloody macro (no idea what i means? click here!) and having to wait 5 bloody minutes? Excel is not responding and my com is lagging like a bunch of seniors on the road. And once the macro is finished loading, I notice an error in my data and I have to go through the data and correct them and run the macro again. And VBA is so retarded. Not all Excel functions can be used on VBA it seems. A simple function like Ln cannot be used in VBA. But that's not really the problem as using Log instead would solve it. What got me worked up was the fact that I didn't know that the Ln function couldn't be used in VBA and I had to spend more than an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with my code. And did I mention that I'm using a 4 year old IBM Thinkpad? Not exactly powerful... But what I'm really bummed out about is that this is just a basic assignment but it's already quite annoying. In total 35000 simulations were runned but still I don't think it should take 5 long tormenting minutes to process it right?

You know what? I think you didn't really understand what i typed above, so let me summarise it for you. Actuarial studies sucks. (Well not really but I think it's fun to be a whinger...)

Silent Scream= ACCA Side Project?

Love Me Butch~ Barricade

Since Qi Hong let me listen to Revolution by Silent Scream, a local Malaysian Band, I suddenly remembered about this band, Love Me Butch. I think this band is awesome, so check it out! Their latest music video!

Wui Li, I still can't get over the fact that your lecturer released a single. I find it very amusing. It seems like Malaysian music scene has some hope. I just hope that Malaysians would support the local scene. Imagine our bands being more popular in Phillipines and Indonesia and not Malaysia? Well I hope in time to come, the Malaysian music scene will take over Asia. Fingers crossed. And I'm not talking about some Siti Nurhaliza crap. That ain't music. Well not to me. :P

Please forgive me for the title if it doesn't make sense. ( Chances are it won't.) Just couldn't think of anything.

LALALALA~ Another rant!

Note: Qi Hong wants to start a band. He's gonna be doing drums! Anyone interested?

BBC HARDTALK featuring special guest Dato’ Seri Syed Hamid Albar

I remember watching this like a month ago on the BBC news channel. Wonder if it was aired in Malaysia. Well anyways here's our good ol' Foreign Minister being interviewed and asked very sensitive questions that will get our asses handed to us by the ISA if we were the ones asking. Well not really but hey it's an eye opener and I just thought I share. All Malaysians should watch this in my opinion.

In all seriousness, I think there's nothing wrong in telling a lie or 2. After all he's our Foreign Minister and he's like our nations publicist and must ensure that our country's image and reputation is maintained. But please Dato', you really need to improve your lying skills. Maybe learn a few new lines. I'm sure you could have done better. I personally wasn't impressed and I think people could see that you were just lying through your teeth.

I have nothing against NEP other than it isn't working. And I don't think Malay Supremacy is good for Malaysia. We need unity, not racism.

I actually thought of posting this earlier, but later realising it being Hari Raya, I changed my mind.

Head on Pillow = Not Happening...

It's 6.45am according to my laptop and I just finished my Stat2001 Assignment. Not a wink of sleep. Can't go to sleep now cause i have a tutorial at 10.00am and I'm worried I won't be able to wake up by 12.00 noon to hand in the assignment...

Feelings? Good cause I finally didn't sleep for once! What an experience. I'm also relieved that I've finally finished the bloody assignment. I would like to thank Milo and cheap Aldi Chewing Gum for making it possible for me to stay awake. I would also like to thank my friends for allowing me to look at their solutions so that I finally have a bloody idea as to how to answer the questions.

Maybe now I should prepare for my tutorial. LIKE HELL NO.... I'll go treat me self to a nice Starbucks Ice Blended Caramel drink thingy... Maybe?

Wonder how long I'll last....

Chee Cheong Fun

I don't know how to word this feeling that I have, but I'll try. I'm smelling this sweet smell. Smells like sweet sauce. Reminds me of Chee Cheong Fun from ss14. I still remember how it felt to be eating Chee Cheong Fun by the drain. It's such a wonderful feeling, and in the cold morning too. I used to eat Chee Cheong Fun at this particular old mans stall. The old man would park his motorbike/stall beside the road at ss14 and if memory serves me right he always parked in front of that small market which does not exist anymore. On Saturday mornings or Sunday mornings after tennis lessons, I would frequent that old mans store. There was something different about eating at his stall. Was it the stainless steel plates which were kinda old that added to the charm, or was it something in the sauce or his fishballs and foo chuk? I guess I'll never know, cause he's dead. I don't particularly remember myself feeling sad or even a hint or dissatisfaction at that time. But now when I think about it, I have never enjoyed Chee Cheong Fun like his ever again. This taste that I feel so familiar in my mouth right now thinking about Chee Cheong Fun has never been tasted by me again. How agonising...

Which leads me to a important conclusion: Do not take for granted everything in your life, down to all the little things.

I think we can all say that we take all the small things in life for granted. The way the evening sun hits the leaves of a tree, or how the jasmines let out their aroma in the cold night, sometimes I wonder do people actually take notice of all these things? I liked how school looked during 5-7pm. There was a certain charm to how the sun was warm and it was time to go home. I miss the feeling of going to pasar malam and being able to eat that Peanut Kuih thingy that that young dude makes or the feeling of going back home with a Pokemon VCD to watch. I never noticed how these things made me feel until now. But alas I'm in Australia and it's time to grow up. The only thing I can do now is make more memories and find more things that I can cherish, so when I reach a ripe old age, I can truly say that I enjoyed life.

Is there a small thing in your life that you appreciate?

Lifes a bitch most of the time

Claymore rocks!~

Guilty Sky- Riyu Kosaka
You gotta love all that celtic music.

Holidays finally over and it's time to get back to studying. How I dread this next few months and I just can't wait for it all to end. Then I'd be able to leave all this burden and heavy yoke that's on my back here in Australia and escape to Malaysia for some temporary release and rest. I don't know why but Malaysia to me is like solace, where I can just run away from all the responsibilities of growing up and studying and God-forbid, working... I need to find a job so I can spend when I go back. And you cannot imagine how desperate I am to go back right now. I feel so alone here sometimes, not having as many friends here as I have in Malaysia. But then again I'm pretty lucky to have my family here and I guess you can't have it all... Well I guess I could have friends here too, but for me I just find it harder to make friends.

Well I guess it's times up for this bitch-fest. So I'll stop PMS-ing and get some shut-eye. Maybe when I wake up, I'll grow a set of balls...

Just another dissatisfied custo... I mean citizen.

There has been a lot of commotion about a certain video by this dude Namewee called 'Negarakuku'. There is a lot of flaming going on between the malays and the chinese. The malays keep chanting the infamous "you tak suka you keluar" line while the chinese keep complaining about being marginalized and being mistreated. To the chinese: Well wake up bitches, life isn't fair... To the Malays: you are aware that Malaysia isn't Malaysia without the chinese and indians right? To Namewee: your MV very ho liao, and it takes a lot of guts to make those type of comments, but why you so stupid to comment about other people religion?

With all the rage going on about that song, I have a reason to rant now no?

Problems with Malaysia:
  1. Sigh if the Malays keep treating Chinese as outsiders and not Malaysians, then of course Chinese people aren't that patriotic. And with Chinese not being patriotic, of course Chinese won't work in the government. When we see other people, we see them by their race, and we don't see them as Malaysians... Like that, obviously we don't have unity in Malaysia. And the Chinese cannot be found without fault too. We Chinese tend to keep to ourselves also. It's bloody human nature... However I'm not saying that we should be like Indonesia, even taking away our chinese names, just to help unify the people and shit. Hell NO!
  2. Don't you feel Malays aren't competitive enough? What I feel is that Malays are being a little pampered, not needing to climb or to do anything for themselves. They really are princes and princesses, after all they are "bumiPUTERA" mar... And if Malays aren't competitive, how can Malaysia be competitive? After all they are the majority race... Once we run out of oil, what else can we offer? Palm oil? That's probably what we would have left. Malaysia doesn't have much to give in terms of service right? The only thing we'd probably have to offer is cheap labour... Probably a reversal of roles with the Indonesians... Which would pretty sad...
  3. I wonder if the Malays are aware that if all the Chinese who could leave Malaysia would do so, what would happen to the country? Think about it, the Chinese who can leave are most probably the people who have money and resources. When the Chinese leave, I think the money will leave as well. Investors will leave as well. Well not instantly, but when the oil runs out. And the Chinese would probably leave, seeing as how they aren't treated as Malaysians. If the country has nothing to offer them, or even treat them as actual citizens, why would they want to give back anything.
  4. The Chinese are always complaining about not getting enough attention by the Goverment, especially when it comes to school funding. We Chinese have to donate to the schools to help continue the expansion of the school and other school spendings. Well that is true, but we have to be aware that Chinese are a minority. Of course we won't be the top of the government's priority. Plus we are totally capable of supporting ourselves, aren't we?
  5. Malaysian Public Universities, why do we need kulitfication to enrol? Whether we are Malay, Chinese or Indian or whatever race, we are still Malaysian right? Why would another person be given a place over another person simply because they are bumiputera? All men are created equal said Abraham Lincoln. By supporting and enforcing racial discrimination, we would be the same as the slave traders, the KKK and we'd be even supporting the Apartheid system and and Indian Caste System, wouldn't we? People should be recognized for their merits and achievements, not for their race or DNA structure.
Honestly the list can go on forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and... You get the point. There are still so many things we can talk about that wrong with Malaysia. I just can't stand how we can be so racist and insult and judge another person when we cannot be found without fault ourselves.

Sigh. In the end, I'm just ranting. LALALA~

I am not a qualified economist, neither am I a distinguished philosopher or a world class leader. What I am is a concerned Chinese Malaysian hoping for a brighter future for Malaysia. And if you bo song with what I say, then you can come to Australia and find me and kick my ass. I'll be waiting. =.=" Hehe copying Yong Yong's style. Sorry!

1リットルの涙

How many times have we given up? Isn't it sad we find it so easy to say it's hopeless? Be it pursues in life or love, when faced with a obstacle, all we do is complain and lose sight of our goals, wallowing in self pity and despair...

But there's are people who aren't like everyone else. One of them was Kitou Aya. Despite being told that there was no cure for her disease and slowly she'd lose function of her body, in the end she still lived a life that was full of hope and joy. President Roosevelt contracted polio and yet he still ran and was elected as the President of the United States of America and served his country. There are many other great individuals who were brought down by problems in life and yet they were still able to get back up on their two feet, well not literally, but they were still able to live a meaningful and inspiring life, and I can't help but think, if they can do it, why can't we?

Humans are actually known to be an versatile species, being able to quickly adapt to the changes in the environment it is in. Yet in reality, humans probably are the weakest species emotionally (probably due to the fact that humans are the only species with emotions). Our emotions and feelings influence our lives in many ways, too many for some of us. If we were to stay positive and happy, we'd be able to live life to the fullest. But if we were to look around us and see only misery and hopelessness, how then would we be able to have a positive outlook in life? I'm not sure if I'd be one who has the right to tell you about it, but this probably is the whole idea behind the Oprah Book of the Month, "The Secret".

To be honest, I'm still not sure what I'm typing about. I just am trying to express my thoughts and emotions after watching 1 Litre of Tears, but I'm probably not doing such a great job. I really enjoyed that show and was extremely touched, to the extent where I even cried, which is something I'm not very comfortable with... But after watching that show, I'm determined to live life like there's no tomorrow, to live day by day without regret. I guess it's something that is easier said than done, but I really hope that I can live like that. Without despair, without regret, without remorse, without 绝望.

1 Litre of Tears is a really great series. I'm not too sure about the accuracy about the dorama compared to the actual events. But regardless, highly recommended! Hmmm I should get my hands on the actual diary too!

Is it me or is she cute? Lolz ;p

Sorry but I feel this post is a little short. Sigh...

2nd semester here we come.

Let's see how I feel. Holidays would be officially over in a few hours. My hair sucks after that $15 haircut. No disrespect to Auntie Ivy, but I look like a girl from Lick Hung. Damn, this semester doesn't seem like it's gonna be a good one.

Now looking back at the last 6 months, there are so many things that I would want to do differently this semester. Honestly, I have to say the last semester wasn't really fulfilling. If I were to talk about it I'd probably sound like a total loser but not that it matters. So I won't. Besides, what's the use of looking back. Instead, I'd look into the future, plan what to do this semester. And what better way than to make a to-do list.

To-do list:
1. To actually study. Man I really need to get HDs.
2. To attend church.
3. To get to know more people.
4. To get an L license.
5. To go for a concert.
6. To not get my hair cut.

Seriously, what the chances I get this list done? Lolz

Malaysian Politics. YAY...
Seriously this is pathetic, not to mention very racist and sensitive. Don't watch if you think you'll feel offended. But be aware that this is REALITY.
This is old stuff though...

Here's your survey Macquarie...

Macquarie sent me a letter asking why I didn't accept their offer. Man do they handle rejection well... Sorry you weren't what we're looking for. Why? Because you're offering me a place in a second class university when I can go to the highest ranked university in Australia at a discounted price? Only a fool would take up our offer mate...

Well FINE. I guess Macquarie is pretty decent. And it's in Sydney. Everybody would like to study in Sydney right? I don't think Australian National University can beat that. But being ranked 16th by the Times Higher Education Supplement has got to count for something right?

Well whatever... In the end I accepted ANU's offer and I think I made a good decision. 30% discount baby... Okay, it's not a discount. It's just the HECS fee... Lalala~

With magic pens and that dumb Macquarie letter lying around, I thought I don't waste paper. After all, why doodle on a nice clean white sheet of A4 when you can doodle on a unwanted envelope. Besides, it would have ended up in the yellow bin anyway... And I like doodling... >.<

Front
Back

Did i ever mention that I like to mess around with Photoshop too? Too bad the only thing I can really do is mess around with it. Fancy doing some nice vector work though... If only I could.

Moral of this story? Don't waste paper. And don't do drugs and alcohol and cigarettes children. They'll ruin your life. And don't go to Macquarie University.

Now how am I gonna return them their survey form...?
PS: Clearly I've got nothing to blog about. After all, I didn't go to Ipoh and face Balanar...

R.I.P. IBM AC Adapter

God killed my adapter. He smite it with His Almighty Power. He unleashed His Wrath on the matter which is the source of my computer's power. With a poof, my adapter died. Why do you fellow chinese factory workers do such a dodgy job? You have left me without a laptop when my exams finish in 2 days? Why? Remaining battery: 27%

L.I.S.T.E.N. 0002

Our Truth by Lacuna Coil. Just another cool song. Check out the band.
Other songs by Lacuna Coil worth checking out:
1. Swamped
2. Heaven's a Lie

The lyrics are sometimes contradictory to my believes but I just enjoy the music. The vocals have some charm to it in my opinion. And the guitars are just awesome.

I actually heard this song like ages ago but thought I just post anyway...

Love Hate. Hate Love.

Love Hate
Hate Love

To love hate is to hate but isn't that love?
To hate love is to hate but can there be love?

You are Love
I am Hate
Two Opposites
Never to be
Our coming together is hate and hate alone.
Hate alone
Me alone
Forever alone, a one sided love story
Or is it a one sided hate?
For when there is me, there will be no you
And where there is you, there must not be me.
I cannot be with you, for it will only result in hate.
A litre of tears.
A litre best shed by one not two.
So let me shed the tears.
Hate alone to shed.
The tears drown the ache
The ache of my lie
A lie to myself
Telling me of my hate for you
When what exist is only love

I hate you
My favourite lie
I hate you
What a bittersweet lie

The lie is like this rose
My lips bleed
Holding it between the lips
Aroma, anesthetize me
From the pain of loneliness
Without Love.

Please forgive me but I had too much time to spare and I had this idea of love hate relationship stuck in my head for like aeons... So please forgive me for this failed expression of emotions... Jo think this would make an awesome idea for a song, but then again Papa Roach has LoveHateTragedy album already...
