Of late, I've been just going through my old blog post. It feels weird, I must say. Reading them, I feel like I've changed, grown, matured, and yet at the same time, I feel like the same kid, the same naive immature kid.

It's 5am. Whee. But what am I doing, being awake at such at an ungodly hour? As much as I'd like to get some sleep, I've got an assignment due. Didn't think I'd take this long. Shows doing work last minute ain't worth it.
But if I've got work, why am I blogging? I guess I shouldn't be doing this now, but I need the break.
Anyway...
Headbanging to stay awake. Man, the eyes can't keep open.
Hmmm what should I blog about this time?
Let's talk about confessions.
Be it admission of wrongdoing or avowal of faith or announcement of one's feeling, in all these situations, confession is something you'd think of as admonition. OK maybe not when you do commit a serious crime with severe consequences, but otherwise I would think so. When you've made the confession, you'd have to bear with the judgment that falls upon you.
Imagine if someone were to tell you one of their deep dark secrets. Everytime she kisses her boyfriend, she imagine she's kissing Zac Efron. Every night he cries himself to sleep because he's not really over her. Stuff like this, stuff that you can read on PostSecret, stuff that could be more or less serious. Whatever it is, when you reveal something intimate about yourself, you're making yourself vulnerable to the listener, you're entrusting you and your emotions to this person. They could keep it between the both of you, which would be the ideal situation, or their impression of you could change for better or for worse, or they could tell other people and therefore people might start judging you and you've just realised that you've lost what little of a good reputation you had.
Now if you're a rational thinking person, would you want to put you in a position whereby someone has leverage over you, knowing all your secrets and being able to tell the other people, especially those who you'd especially hate if they were to know.
So you, being a person of sound mind, thinks that it's better to live as an island, live an impersonal life, a life where you don't need to connect with other people. You justify the absence of commitment and relationships in your life. After all, what do you stand to gain?
But we all know relationships are more than that. And given that you do know that it's more than that, I shall not bore you by saying what relationships are like and why they're important.
I thing to note though, is how sharing what you feel or confession of some intimate secret, can be really selfish in nature. Imagine you sharing something to a person who would be better off not knowing? And given that you've given told them something, they might feel obligated to give something back. You cheeky devil, trying to get her to share something with you by forcing a secret of yours on her. It shouldn't be that way...
Anyway I shall stop. It's now 12 Noon.

Christians can be the most self righteous, pretentious, judgmental people on the face of this planet. It's as if that becoming a Christian gives us the right to judge people, sneer when they err and screw up, forgetting that we ourselves are sinners to begin with.
I remember talking to this person once, and she said that since she became a Christian she no longer had sin. Now I guess in a sense, that's true. The Bible tells us that when we accept Jesus, our sins are forgiven. But there was something about the way the lady said that. It could be possible that it was due to the language barrier, or maybe the way Koreans talk, I don't know, but it seemed to me like there was a hint of pride in her tone, like since becoming a Christian, she became better than everyone else. Becoming a Christian doesn't mean you're perfect. In fact we're still the same people, only that we recognize that we need a savior, that we can't live our lives by our own strengths alone.
Arghh in the end I'm ranting. I shall end on this note though: We are saved by grace, and not by our deeds.

Parkway Drive - The DVD Tour with August Burns Red and Architects and Dead Kings, Canberra

Parkway Drive with August Burns Red and Architect and Dead Kings. Southern Cross Woden Basketball Club. It was an awesome gig.
I think the gig was the closest thing I've got too any 'action' if you catch my drift. LOL With the place packed like a tin of sardines, the person behind me jumping behind me humped a hole in my jeans (actually the hole was there already), and my Thrill Seeker CD booklet, which I brought to get signed but in the end it didn't, got all rumpled up. Well at least I was standing next to a girl too so at least it wasn't all that gay. LOL Anyway the gig was awesome. The crowd was alive, the bands were heavy. For me the highlight was seeing August Burns Red. Frontman Jack Luhrs was very expressive, and guitarist JB Brubaker was interacting with the crowd. It was worth going to see Parkway Drive a second time too. Clearly they are much loved in Australia. People were crowd surfing, moshing, jumping. The place was alive.
Honestly, I'm probably not the best headbanger around. Wish I knew the songs better. And in the live settings when the words aren't that audible and drums are too loud, sometimes I couldn't tell what the song was. But it was good fun.

August Burns Red: Back Burner, The Truth Of A Liar, Meddler
Parkway Drive: Boneyards, Idol and Anchors, Dead Man's Chest, Horizons, Gimme a D, Guns For Show,Knives For Pros, Romance Is Dead, Smoke 'Em If Ya Got 'Em, Feed Them To The Pigs, and a new song which I can't remember the name of.
Bought a few tees, got the new Parkway Drive DVD which I managed to get signed. All in all a good day out. Too bad had to rush back to Unilodge for a assignment meeting. One day later and my body still kinda aches. I'm too old for this shit.

Wonder Girls, SNSD, two Korean girl bands that I like. Why? Catch songs + Eye candy, can a guy ask for more? Being single, I can openly admit that I think most of the members are exceptionally hawt. HAWT!
Now knowing that most, if not all,have undergone some form of plastic surgery, should we judge? Should we choose not to like, listen or support artist like these?
We've all payed some price, made some sacrifice, to achieve something. We've all done something to improve ourselves, be it exercise to get a fitter body or studied harder to gain knowledge and better ourselves. But is that the same with plastic surgery?
Don't know, don't care really. Just let me enjoy my K-Pop. Wheeeee...

It's about time this blog get's an update. And what better time to do it than the aftermath of getting results for my last semester.
note: Discretionary warning. Excessive use of the word "f*ck". If you are offended by the use of such a word, I apologize and advice against reading on.
F*ck ups.
F*ck ups, I'm sure we have been one at one point or another. But problem is, some of us revisit that place more than others. Lucky you, others. You just have life better than the people around you. You better thank the Good Lord for your superior genetics, life conditions, luck and personal around you.
When we f*ck ups f*ck up, it's hard to see anything beyond the f*ck up, speaking from experience. It's really hard to see what we're suppose to do from here. Most f*ck ups are salvagable, and that's why they are f*ck ups. If it isn't that bad, you wouldn't call it a f*ck up right? You'd call it a blunder, boo boo, blooper. Verbalize a combination of words that sounds cute and you probabaly can add it to that list of words, teach babies to say it when the take a dump in their own diapers which would lead to a symphony of "awwww....". F*ck ups don't leave you smiling. There's no way for you to see the humor in your ignorance and stupidity like you would if you, I don't know, farted in a elevator or slipped on a banana peel (cliche, I know, but couldn't think of anything). Instead it's how you'd feel like if you dropped the soap in prison or correctional facility; It's just something that leaves you feeling really dirty and depressed.
Not surprisingly, giving up and f*cking up are correlated, and not just because they end with the word 'up'. Read last sentence of paragraph above and you'd understand; How is one suppose to deal with something like that. It's not like you can just ignore it; I bet it still feels sore. It's not like you can sleep; I bet it still haunts you in you sleep. You could use alcohol or drugs, but you'd be a bigger f*ck up if you do so. So the easiest way to deal with it is just to run away, no longer exposing yourself to the possibility of f*cking up again. By avoiding the problem all together, you can remain ignorant to your own dearth of a functioning brain and your incompetence in being part of society. Keep running you wuss.
This is the part where the feel good lines are suppose to come in. But the thing is, you f*cked up, and you have no control over time and therefore are not able to rewrite your mistakes, so stop trying to create a time machine that brings you to the past; You're a f*ck up, so you are incapable of such a feat. You'd just have to live with the consequence of your f*ck up, that's the sad truth. But that doesn't mean you have to live life like an emo kid, cutting yourself to take your mind of your pain. Instead, hopefully you will learn from your f*ck up and therefore not f*ck up again and continue on with life. Easier said than done, admittedly, but that's the way God has set it out to be.
And no, I don't need your sympathy.

This is so depressing. End of 3rd year 1st semester and I still hate Actuarial Studies. Going through all the notes for Risk Theory, I feel I've wasted 2 years of my life. Subject matter is so dry, the math is so demanding, I don't understand a single thing. Sigh. I think I'll just drop my Finance degree and graduate this year and then probably get on with life. Take up another degree? Architecture, Engineering?
If my parents read this, I'm so dead...

What's your Moment Generating Function?
A380's entertainment thingy is quite good imo. Even has a USB port as well as an ethernet port. Don't know what the ethernet port does but you can use the USB port to charge as well as play your songs on your ipod. OK enough advertising for SIA and Airbus.
Haven't really updated, and well if you're one of my imaginary readers who just love reading my blog and always can't wait for the next update, please accept my imaginary words of apology.
It's just that well, there's nothing that I can write. Nothing appeals to me. Nothing amuses me.

Meow.
Holidays were good save the death of my grandfather and all. Then again, the death was good I think. Not to sound morbid or indifferent of my grandfather's death, but I think he's better off.
Holidays were great. Got to see some faces, crashed the car, went for cell, ate some Hokkien Mee. I think it was all good. That and minus the fact that I had to attend a funeral.
But it's all over and I've got to get back to the same ol' crap. And I've got an assignment due on Friday which I was planning to do during the last week of holidays. Instead I crashed the car, into another car, in front of a friend's house. I also watched my grandfather's coffin as it went down into this nice hole in the ground. Great ain't it?
Fleeting moments, that's what I live for.
PS: I have a slight bias against cats. Meow.

But it's all over and I've got to get back to the same ol' crap. And I've got an assignment due on Friday which I was planning to do during the last week of holidays. Instead I crashed the car, into another car, in front of a friend's house. I also watched my grandfather's coffin as it went down into this nice hole in the ground. Great ain't it?
Fleeting moments, that's what I live for.
PS: I have a slight bias against cats. Meow.
OCF Canberra 2009 Camp: The Last Days
Went for camp almost 2 week ago. Probably should have blogged about it a bit earlier, but took a while doing the editing. That and the fact that I just got back from Malaysia. Camp was good and I was really blessed. Learned a lot from Pastor Dom's talks as well as the bible studies with my group. Had a lot of fun with my "Sunshine" Teammates, and we won too! I really feel like a gained so much through this camp! Have to appreciate all the work and effort that the camp committee have put into this camp!
OK. Enough talk. Here are a few of the highlights of camp. Pics ahoy:
Trampoline time! There was a trampoline on the camp site, and I think I'm sure everyone had fun on it. Even I had a go on it...
We had a Night Worship session. Stood and sat around the trampoline and just worshiped under the stars. We just shouted out a song that we would sing and we'd just sing it. And Shern Ren, it seems like he knows how to play every single song! And his arms just never tire...
There were also awesome games organized by Jared and Frank, but I don't have the time to upload.
There are lots more pics, which I shan't upload and you'd just have to see it on Facebook since I really don't have the time to upload it here and blog about it.

Just sat for an exam. Screwed it. But it's redeemable. So whatever. Didn't really feel stressed or anything. Just wanted to see how much I managed to learn. Not much apparently. But I don't feel worried or anxious about it. Even though I know I didn't do well. Yeah. It's probably because it's redeemable. Well whatever. Should study to learn. Not study for exams. But something inside me doesn't allow me to believe that. The Malaysian side of me.
Oh and I lost my student id. Today isn't a good day. But I'm indifferent. I don't feel anything. Am I a robot?

Nasi Lemak and Curry Chicken.
Nasi Lemak à la Jo Revisted.
Had dinner at 10-ish today. That's cause I started preparing at 8.30-ish? Well had a good dinner today. Nasi Lemak and Curry Chicken? Well it's not really nasi lemak. The peanuts are just regular unsalted peanuts. The rice is just normal jasmine rice. But still, good enough for me.
Dinner time.
I find Food Photography hard. Can't find the proper angle to shoot. And what I don't know what to focus on and how to arrange the composition of the photo. Arghh...
Curry chicken and potatoes.
Time to dig in.

For the sake of updating. And telling the world I just cooked sambal at 1am.
It's 1.48am and I just finished cooking ikan bilis sambal. Recipe from link on a link on Sue Anne's blog. But the following pics are not of the sambal that I just made, as I've got my roommate and their friends over outside, and taking pics of the food I cook is weird in my opinion.
The following pics are just lunch from weeks back. It's just fettuccine with cabbage and chicken in cream sauce. Nothing much to shout about, as I'm not much of a cook, but I think cabbage, chicken and cream make a great combo.
This is food.
It's edible.
Even though it doesn't look like it.

Time to sleep. If not, I won't be able to wake up to go for the MASCA Charity Run.

I haven't been updating of late. Well that's cause I don't really have anything to update about. That and I had an assignment to do last week. Got a few pics that I will be updating probably tomorrow. Apart from that, don't know what to update about. We'll see. Come back in a few days and hopefully there'll be something new here!

How to conduct a photoshoot. (aka I Need Models...)
Hi! Today we're gonna talk about shooting!
First you need your subjects/ models. I made mine out of Blu Tack. I have lots of Blu Tack, and time apparently (Should be studying though. Shh...)
Then try to think of an idea or theme. Actually think about that before getting your subjects/ or models. Or you could think of a way to utilise your models in to suit a certain theme.
Take as many shots as possible, and take them from every angle. Out of the million shots that you take, there's bound to be one nice one. But take your time and don't rush. Don't want to spoil a good shot just because you were hurrying and your shot didn't turn out sharp.
When you're done, it's time for processing. I'm actually a bad photographer and depend highly on post processing to make my shots look cool and interesting. Sad but true. If you're a lazy bum like me, there are a lot of presets out there that you can use. Of course give credit to the creator of the preset. I got my presets here.End.
"What I always wanted to let you know is that..."Done with some Blu Tack, a a ruler, a mobile phone, and a wandering mind. That and a lot of time.
