Actuarial joke.

Just so this place don't seem so dead...

It's duck season! 2 actuary go hunting. And being actuaries and not hunters, their aim sucks. Anyway they saw a duck flying and the actuaries tried to shoot the duck, but the first one shot 10 feet on the left of the duck while the other one shot 10 feet on the right of the duck. Not being able to get the duck down from the sky, it was weird as they high five-ed and decided to grab a Corona to celebrate. Why are they rejoicing? Are they retarded or something?

So what do you think? [This is the part where you guess why...]

It's official. See you in July...

Well until then...

It's fish.

Disclaimer: Any use of WTF or wtf on this blog is not intended to mean 'What The F*ck' but instead 'What The Fish'. So when you see WTF or wtf, I'm not swearing. Just thought I get it clear.

A Long Day

Oh just yesterday I went back to the Malaysian Embassy. Since I feel reluctant to pay for a taxi to get there and neither do I want to take the bus as I'd still need to walk a fair bit, I rode my bike there. So I think I got on the bike at about 10-ish and slowly peddled my way there. And mind you, it's been a long time since I've ridden on a bike. Or even done any exercise. So the journey was quite a demanding one for me. Well not really. Only at the parts where I had to climb. Crossing the roads was scary too. And driving beside cars... I thought of using the bike lane, but after seeing the cars going so near the bike lane, some even going on it, I opted the pedestrian lane. It was quite nice cycling there though... Got to take a pic. But wasn't really satisfied with it. Wanted to take more, but had to rush to the embassy...

On the way I saw 2 people in front of the People's Republic of China's Embassy protesting. Well I wouldn't say their protesting... They were just sitting there, meditating or praying or something... And they hung up pro Falun Gong banners and stuff... Later I found out that other people are protesting in other states as well from some dude from Melbourne's blog. Seems like the turnout was pretty good there, especially compared to the one here in Canberra, the capital of the nation. 2 people wey... Kinda sad don't you think? I actually thought of taking pics of them, but like stated above, I had to rush...

Anyway made my way there and got the number and sat down, a bit sweaty... My number said 11. So I thought, this won't take long, seeing as the man being served is number 8. Boy was I wrong. Number 9 belonged to this Aunty. See was most probably renewing her passports for, I'm guessing here, her 3 daughters and maybe her... Aiyoh she had to ask so many questions... Her second daughter couldn't renewed her passport cause she's 12 already so she needs to have her IC to renew the passport, but seeing as she turned 12 here in Australia and her passport is expiring, she can't go back to get her IC. Lolz... I don't know what's she suppose to do. In the end she can't have her passport renewed. So this aunty took like more than half and hour to get her business done. I think she didn't even fill in the forms prior to her turn. So that's a lot of time taken up. So with nothing to do, I had took the Financial Review that was provided at the embassy. You know how papers provided are like clamped by this papan like thing? So that the pages don't come out? It's like in hotel lobbys? Well it's clamped so I can't read properly as some parts of articles are covered. So was kinda annoyed. Gave up and just sat there. And I did what Kai did. Eavesdrop. Lolz... This guy suddenly turned around and talked to these 2 people. And since I'm bored, I shall tell you what I can remember.

The dude, he's from Malaysia and is 25 years old. Studied in Sydney and went back to Malaysia. Came back here when he was 20 and has been in Australia for 5 years already. He works in the IT department of Commonwealth Bank on George St in CBD Sydney. He came with his mom, who came to Australia to visit for 2 weeks. I think it was 2. She works at an insurance company in Malaysia. The dude has a sister who's coming to Australia next year and going to study MassCom. He and his mom rented a car and drove to Canberra from Sydney at 6.00am. She slept on the way and he had only the CD in the player to keep him company throughout the journey. He drove. They plan to drive around Canberra before picking their passports at 3.00pm.
The 2 ladies that were sitting behind him (in front of me) met at a speed dating event. They were both avoiding this crazy lady who was too perky, she could have been high on pot. The crazy lady's name was Bubbles. One of the ladies is from Malaysia. She went to NZ to study and later came to Australia. Her parents fly between NZ and Sabah( or was it Sarawak?) as her sister is currently studying in NZ. The other lady is an Aussie. She works at Zurich Insurance. She moved out of her place 6 months back as construction went on in front of her building and it was shaking her place and she didn't like the location anymore. She has a full drivers license but hasn't driven in 2 years already. Oh and both ladies had grapes. Well that's all I can remember on the top of my head.

Well finally the Aunty at the counter was done. Next was this guy. Not the guy mentioned above. Took barely 5 minutes. Just got the thumbprint on, signed his paper, handed his passport and the relevant forms and required photocopy of IC. So fast. Then next the guy mentioned above. Same procedure. After that, finally my turn. FINALLY. Then the guy at the counter said: "Eh? You should have just come to the counter and collected it. Don't need to wait." WTF? Lolz..

So now I got my passport that says:
Pejabat Pengeluar/ Issuing Office
HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA
CANBERRA
Canggih leh?

On the way back the bloody bike chain came off the gears. Had to get my hands dirty. So annoying. Really considering getting a fixie...

Made it back and had to start work again as I had an assignment due at 5.00pm. Handed it in at 4.55pm So last minute leh? Ran all the way to the office.

I can't believe you stayed till the end. You either have no life or too much time on your hands or unbelievable concentration.

Bored

With most of my assignments done, I feel like suddenly I have so much time. To the point where I think of doing my revision. You might think: Hey what's so wrong about that? Well let me tell you, I've always been a person who always prepare in the last minute. So far in my 1 year plus of uni experience, I haven't actually studied except during the week before exam. I guess that explains the credit average, but it's just not easy for me to sit down and look at a book or a stack of notes for a few hours...

With nothing to distract me except my guitar, I shall now live a boring life. Life will consist of:
1. Going to lectures and tutorials.
2. Doing tutorials.
3. Playing guitar. And I'd probably be playing scales only. So boring right?
4. Reading my weekly dose of Naruto, Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Air Gear and Hatsukoi Limited.
5. Tearing the pages off the calender.
6. Going for Bible study and church( though I wouldn't really consider it church).
7. Listening to iPod.
8. Taking pictures of my wall.
9. Reading Bible and a few other books.
10. Breathing.

Wah only 10 things... And note that I put breathing there just to make the list reach 10.

Life is such a drag. Well a month to exams. Need to concentrate on studies anyway...

Malaysian Embassy Visit!

Went to the embassy today. Got the passport renewed. And I found out something about me today. I'm 170cm short. Yes taunt me. I know I'm short.

I have to say our embassy here is so not really not as glamorous as the other countries'. Most look modern, tasteful and have guards at the gates and stuff. Ours has the humongous emblem on it and the architecture looked unappealing. The colour was also pretty dull and the place seemed dead. And we didn't even had guards at the gates... Well I suppose nobody's gonna try to blow the place up or something, so there is no such need. It was kinda weird to watch TV1 there too. And while I was at the counter, I noticed that some lame exercise video was on.

Seems like I'll need to cycle all the way there because I didn't have time to go back due to class. I was lucky to have my friend drive me there since he rented a car for his taxi examination. Oh well it'll be the first time I ride a bike in Australia.

Passport photos

Got passport photos taken today... I thought passport photos are standard, but apparently different countries have different requirements. From what the lady said, the Greeks and Chinese are really anal retentive. Must get face measurement right and stuff. And I just noticed that on the High Commission website, the photos must be taken with a blue background and mine has a white one. Oh well... try my luck tomorrow. Cos the Consulate in Sydney's website say blue or white can... We'll see tomorrow. If they say cannot, maybe I should say "Malaysia Boleh!"

I need to get a camera USB cable thingy...

Why ask me such a question?

Went for dim sum today. Dim sum. Nothing special right? But that's not what this post is about.

My friend's girlfriend asked me something. The question was...: 'Are you gay?" ZOMG WTF?

I'm gonna hide in a corner now...

If you're angry or feel used or just unappreciated, you might relate.
And if you're wondering, no I don't feel that way. Posting just because I like the song.

Haven't posted here in a while. Will get to it soon. Once this dreaded week ends.

Oh well I forgive you. Kinda.

A sliver of hope...

It seems that it just might be plausible for me to go back to KL this June/July. Yay! Now I need to think of accomodation and transport. Damn I really need to get my driving license soon. Maybe I should consider a Kopi-O one. Just kidding. Seriously, I don't need the BPR to be breathing down my throat.

Jon, can I stay with you?

Or is anyone willing to house me, and be my driver? I'll pay? Lolz.

We Had Brownies!

BAPE X G-Shock

Seems like G-Shocks are the 'in thing' now? There's this Bape collab, LRG, KiksTyo and I won't be surprised if there are or will be others.

Remember the days when G-Shocks were 'dope' too? Lolz at the use of term dope. I remember when many people in Lick Hung had one.

Think this G-Shock is cool? Then get one. The price tag will have these numbers on it. 21000yen, and XE.com tells me that's equivalent to... RM637.556! What!? RM600 over for a G-Shock? Sigh... Only a hypebeast (a type of dinosaur) would want to get one.

Just go old school and get a normal G-Shock lar. Don't make your parents sad.

PS. 'Hypebeast' is not a dinosaur species, though brain size is comparable to a stegosaurus. Want to know what a real watch is suppose to look like? Google Patek Philippe.

Source: Hypebeast :This is not the same link as the one above, if you're wondering... It's s site that reports the lastest 'in things' in streetwear.

Tagged by Qi Hong!

Simple instructions... the tag consists of 16 questions, when YOU do the tag.. add one more question to it at the end and bracket your name at the back of it ... tag 4 people :)

1. Are you currently interested (in the boy-girl relationship way) in someone?
Yes. As a matter of fact I am. Who it is, it's a 秘密! Himitsu!

2. If given the chance, what part of your past would you change?
Hmmm the time I crapped in my pants? Lolz... Actually a lot of things. It's like I wish I could relive my whole past all over again. The things I did and didn't do because I was to scared, how I wish I could change it all.

3. In general, do you think physical or internal beauty matters more in a person?
Internal beauty. External is just a bonus.

4. Why did you choose your occupation/course?
Haha... Well it's like this. I didn't really know what I wanted to do. Had a rough idea. It was suppose to be Engineering and Accounting. But when I got my results for S.A.M., I still wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. So I did the thing with the highest requirement that I was qualified to take. Actuarial Science. Cos then it would be a good paying job. And with money, I can do anything I want later, be it accounting, engineering (well not really), art, design, music. But now when I think about it, I can't really do everything. Beginning to think that actuarial science isn't for me though. But I'll just have to finish what I started, no? Actually thought of changing to medicine in January, but that would be a crazy thing to do, no?

5. How much does money matter to you?
Money? It's just a tool.

6. How's life currently?
Boring. Canberra ain't happening! And my friends are all boring people. Well I'm no exception. Holidays are coming though, but I can't join them in their plans as well.

7. Are you a faithful/loyal person when it comes to relationships?
Uber loyal.

8. What is the one physical trait of yourself you like the most?
Physical trait? My large ass? Lolz... My hair I guess...

9. What is the one physical trait of yourself you dislike the most?
My skin. Pimples go away please? Behold the power of Proactiv, which isn't working. Sigh...

10. Briefly describe your dream car.
Tough question. It was the Veilside Mazda RX-7 which was in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. But I really like the Savannah RX-7 driven by Ryousuke in Initial D. Nissan Skylines are nice too. And so are Evo Lancers.

11. Briefly describe your dream house.
This is even tougher. I don't really think about this. I guess a waterfront house with a dock. Then must have a telescope on the veranda, and a slide into the sea! And a lookout like on those pirate ships!

12. What is the ONE skill you would like to pick up the most?
Like Qi Hong, kao lui skills lor... LOLZ >.<

13. What was the last dream you had?
(the kind you get when you're asleep LOL)
I rarely remember my dreams. Just can't.

14. How often do you get what you want?
Me? Hmmm depends. Not really. Cause I never ask for it, even though I want it.

15. List out 5 positive and 5 not-so-positive things about the person who tagged you. (Qi Hong)
This question is tough, especially when a. you don't know the person well or b. they're just too perfect. Well let's start with positives.
1. A really good friend. Loyal and trustworthy.
2. A sensitive guy.
3. Smart and sharp.
4. Knows how to enjoy life.
5. Most importantly, awesome gamer!

Not so positives
1. Too emotional and clingy at times.
2. Smarter than me.
3. Better gamer than me.
4. More leng chai than me.
5.Thinking of 1 is actually tough... 5 somemore? Hmmm last one last one. I know, wait I don't. This guy is just too perfect!

16. My question now eh? If you were a pastry or cake, what would you be and why? [ Joshua, the person who just felt like eating something sweet.]
I would be a cream puff! Why? Because I like cream puffs. And I'm soft and mushy on the inside!

That's all!

Now tag 4 people eh? I taggeth:
1. CBB
2. Nelson
3. Kai
4. Sarah Kate (well when she has the time.)

Should post this at SEEK.com too!

Calling all University Of Adelaide Eligible bachelorettes with Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship Status.
Like what you see? Then hook up now! You want his leng-chai-ness. He wants your PR/Citizenship. Everybody's happy! Whee~~~

Application Requirements:
1. You must be born female. As in the day you were born, you were a girl. And the doctor pronounced to the world that "It's a girl!". If you say that you were born a girl in a boys body, I'll just have to say that this isn't for you. And if you were a boy when you were born but now are a girl because of the wonders of modern medicine, I'll just have to say that this isn't for you too.
2. You must currently hold an Australian Passport or a Australian Permanent Resident Visa.
3. You must be currently enrolled and studying at the University Of Adelaide, Australia.
4. You must be hot. And when we say hot, we mean CILI PADI HOT!

If you think you meet all the requirement above and ready to get hitched, go to Qi Hong's blog and drop your note at the CBOX. Or you could forward your curriculum vitae to helpqihonggetaprvisasothathesavestonsofmoneyontuitionfee@gmail.com.

Thanks for your time.

In case you're some kind of desperate person or some hobo in need of money, this isn't a real advert.

Story Of The Year Down Under Australia!

Story of the Year is coming to Australia! Must go see! Even though it's so close to my exams! Hopefully I'd be done by then.

And since this post has something to do with Story of the Year, why not post some music. I really like this song...

Who comes up with this type of stuff?

Nothing to post. So I shall do the tag.

1. What age do you wish to marry?

Marriage? 結婚? I can't really see myself in a relationship, let alone get married? Ideally I would like to get married at 25 or maybe 28? Seems like most people do too... But no one wants me... *sheds tears in the corner* Lolz...

2. What will you do when you feel really emo?
Emo. Hmmm dye my hair red? Or maybe a mohawk. Can't decide. Actually I'm not one to feel emo. I just can't. So I guess I'd be myself.

3. Who is your idol?
Paul Gilbert, Slash, Eric Clapton, Bill Gates, Nigo, Warren Buffet. Many people. But then again I just respect them, not idolise them.

4. Where is the place you want to go most?
Space. Or Japan. Or Malaysia.

5. If you have one dream to come true, what would it be?

To just live by the beach with the one I love. Sorry Qi Hong, it's like I'm copying your dream. But it's just so dreamy...

6. What is the purpose of your life?
Beats me. To be a good influence to those around me? To help those in need? Or just to be part of your life? I have no idea.

7. What are you afraid to lose the most right now?
Family and friends. I don't have anything other than that really...

8. What cheers you up for the rest of the day?
Root beer and Pocky.

9. If you meet someone you love, would you confess to him/her?
I shy shy wan... LOLZ... Nope I won't.

10. List out 3 good things about the person who tagged you.
She can kick my ass, she has nice hair but most importantly she's a friend. A good one too!

11. What type of person do you hate the most?
Stupid people. Noisy people. Stuck up people. Asians that speak with an annoying accent and dress like Aussies... I hate neon blue shirts.

12. What would you do if you won a million dollars?
A million eh? I would not invest. I'd set up my own business. Maybe a clothing line? Or maybe my own guitar store. Nah... I'd give it all to deserving charities.

13. What is your ambition?
Just to get a good paying job. Investment banking maybe? Doubt it cause I ain't investment banker material. Well I guess just to finish my actuarial qualification is a good enough ambition for me.

14. What will you do if you get rejected by someone you like?
I would do nothing. I'll just walk away. Crying. In my heart.

15. If you have a chance, which part of your character would you like to change?
My un-hotness... LOLZ. Errrmmm my lack of enthusiasm and my general low self confidence.

16. What is your favourite colour?
Blue and black. I wear a lot of black and blue. White for sneakers...

17. What do you think is the most important thing in your life?
You'd probably be most afraid to lose the thing that's most important in life no? SO refer to above.

18. If there's one thing in your life you want to do but yet unable to, what would it be?
Get a girlfriend. LOLZ... Just kidding! To sweep pick. Just can't do it.

19. What would you do if tomorrow is the last day of the world?
Go back to Malaysia and eat Hokkien Mee. Then confess my love. Then buy a Wii and play with my friends and family. I wonder if "she'll" play? Then get smash my guitar. Hmmm then eat more Hokkien Mee. And maybe some Nasi Lemak from SS14.

20. What are the requirements that you wish from your other half?

For her just to love me and love God and just want to spend the rest of her life with me. And she must be HOT!

I have to say this tag is poorly done. I just ain't happy with my responses. Oh well. Hope it doesn't make you dribble all over your keyboard because of boredom.

I'm suppose to tag 2 people because Qi Hong tagged 2 people right? So I tag Jun Sheng and Yuan Dong. Not many other people for me to tag no? Well do it in your own time. Wait these people don't even read my blog. So how? Then tag nobody lor. If you want to do then do lor... Don't want to force anyone to do anything.

Random Thought 3

I have a digital crush on blogger Suet Li! She's so hot! LOLZ...
I think I need to go lie down now. Or get a girlfriend. Or just a PS3. Or maybe a bike. Or a skate board.

Haizzz this blog should just go die.

STAT 2032 Financial Mathematics Mid Sem Jitters

Wahh....! In about 27/2 hours I would be sitting for my STAT 2032 Financial Math Mid Semester Exam. How do I feel? Unprepared. I'm at a point where I don't know what I know and don't. And I feel like the knowledge is leaking out my ears. It feels liquidy...Arrgghhh... Why must I always feel like this about exams?

I need You!

Well once this is over (2.30pm AUS Eastern Standard Time), I'll probably be rocking on Guitar Hero on the XBOX 360 or playing Ninja Gaiden on PS3 or eating Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap or Pizza. Depends what everyone else wants.

Or I'll probably just be dreaming.

Holidays next week! Can't wait! Dad will be over too!

WTH exams haven't finished already thinking about all this. GET TO WORK DAMMIT!

Clearly this is a pointless post. Something that can be seen here often.

What people in Australia can't get right.

I have to say there are many things in Australia that just don't seem to satisfy me. Here are just a few examples.

1. Hokkien Mee
I went to Oriental Kitchen, a Chinese/ Malaysian restaurant at Civic. Ordered the Hokkien Fried Prawn Mee. In my mind I was thinking, whether they serve me the black sauce one that Ah Hwa or the Penang Hokkien Mee that we call Har Mee I'd still be satisfied. Turns out it was neither. It was some Meehoon and "Hokkien Mee" (Inverted commas because hokkien mee here is like our wong mee...) that is fried in soy sauce of something. WTF?

2. Char Kuey Teow
Ok. I just ate this yesterday at Oriental Kitchen too, thinking that I probably should give them a chance considering the restaurant is run by Hongkies ( Is this term derogatory?) It was a mistake. They screwed it up too... But then you'd say of course lar. You're in Australia. But still, WTF?

3. Sarsi
Well there's no F&N here. But Schweppes does have sarsaparilla. And it's been a while since I drank it. And it's a tad bit too expensive to pay $2 for a can of A&W Root Beer. So I bought a bottle. 1.25 litres i think? But Schweppes's Sarsaparilla sucks... Taste like cough medicine. I wonder which is a worse soft drink, this or Dr Pepper? Seriously Aussies can't get this right either? WTF?

4. Foosball
The only place I know in Canberra that has a foosball table is the gaming centre in Civic. But the table sucks. Like for kids wan... So old and badly maintained... Where can I get a decent foosball table? WTF?

These are just 4 things that I can think of right now. There will be more to follow. To be continued...

It's cold, so...

Hot...

The weather's starting to get cold. Autumn finally is here. Good reason to get a new jacket or hood right? Lolz... I so want this. And I don't mind having the model to go with too.

Exam Blues...

Got an exam in about 16 hours? Sure it's redeemable, but the chances of me doing better here is greater than the chances of me doing better in my finals. Still I don't feel confident. I definitely didn't study enough. Didn't do enough exercises. And I also don't have enough time (or more specifically times when I feel in the mood and ready to study) to get my work done and to be up to date. Damn... I really need to bring up my average. I don't want to be stuck in an accounting firm, not that there's anything wrong with that, but I would definitely prefer a life which is more competitive. And that's why I need a higher average. God help me.

Economics, how I loathe thee. Maybe I should have done Art. Or maybe Engineering. Or Medicine. Nah... Not Medicine. I'm not doctor material.

Plus doctors generally don't earn enough so that I can indulge in guitars and comics and consoles and stuff. Damn I'm a geek.

EDIT: 5.35pm: It's over! Not very confident but hopefully I can get at least 8 out of 10. Please? Pretty please?

ERFWORLD!

Just to keep my blog fresh, check this out!

ERFWORLD!

I have to say this comic is pretty good.Actually pretty good is like the worlds biggest understatement. You'd probably find it a bit hard to understand unless you're into D&D, which I have no experience in either. But storyline's great, art's great! What more could you ask! This is probably not worth mentioning, but it was recognized as one of the Top 10 Graphic Novels of 2007 by Times.

Keep up the booping awesome work Rob Balder and Jamie Noguchi! I know what I'll be doing every Tuesday and Saturday.

Dream State - Change

Alarm sounds, eyes open, another day begins
Your routine life awaits you
I'm only getting older
I'm only getting older

I've spent too long trying to please everyone
It's time I got selfish and did something
Don't need your opinions, can't hear your objections
Like it or not, this is who I am

Go to work and pretend I'm someone that I'm not
Just turn and nod, do what they say
You said I could be anything I want
If I give it all I have
Well this is my life and these are my dreams

Hope you like! I wonder if people listen to the music I post... Well I think most of us can relate to this song.

Thursday, March 13, 2008

I want to shred, but I can't even play this solo...

Something for you, my dear readers to listen to.

I finally started learning this song today, after reading some 13 year old kid saying that he can solo this song! I cannot lose to small kids... But damn I'm not fast enough...

Oh well...

This is what I call empowering the Malays!

I find this hard to believe. Never in my life did I actually for once think of it as a possibility. Things will be so different from here on out, even though it's just in Penang. But still... Wahhhhh!

The Penang Umno Secretary says that Malays would be angry. But I think I would encourage Malays to take this as a challenge. We all know how inefficient the NEP is. In an age where the world is getting flatter and flatter and other countries are getting more and more competitive, this is what we need in order for us to compete on a global level. And now Malays can't be called lazy or that they don't deserve what they have. Now they can truly say that their achievements are product of their own sweat and tears.

Be proud! The nation has high expectations of you!

Snort and Scratch....

I have an addiction. Yes an addiction. I love Pocky! I think I spent if I'm not mistaken almost $8 just on these 4 boxes. 2.8*8= RM22.40! Walauwey...

Don't know what to put here.

I have to say I have heard a lot of funny news over the few days.
1. Samy lost!
2. Samy's still MIC prez! WTH just retire lar. You're just bringing MIC down with you.
3. Pak Lah still wants to be numero uno.
4. Dr. Mahathir admitted he's wrong.
5. Selangor is no longer BN territory.
6. My friend went to the police to file a report in case his roommate might file a rape report against him.
7. My friend/ classmate ( I'm not sure what he'd consider me as...) just got married. He's only 2 years older than me and he's married, while I on the other hand have yet to even be in my first relationship. ZOMG I sound so desperate...

Weird...

Back in the comfy leather chair...

It seems like Pak Lah will be holding on to his position. Kudos to him for not succumbing to the pressure around him. I wouldn't say I'm happy that he's still going to be the prime minister, and neither would I say that I'm sad about it either.

I mean, come on. If it's not him then who? I don't think anyone else can do a better job. Najib? No thank you. I might end up lying on the floor with my blood all over some keris because of this Islam Extremeist. But it's not like I'd delight at the fact if one of the opposition became the prime minister if they had won this election. Anwar? I'm not so sure considering his history of (alleged? well whatever. not taking chances here) buttplugging. Then again his sexuality has nothing to do with national affairs. But still, I don't think Anwar would make a good prime minister. Chief opposition leader? Yes.

I still feel uncertain about the way things are going. It's like playing a guessing game. What's gonna happen next? It's so uncertain. That's why Malaysian stocks fell I guess... So I guess it's like how it is after every Pokemon episode: To be continued...

Post Malaysian General Election 2008 Ramblings

Election is over. Results are in. Barisan National really was forced to eat dirt. It was as if the Malaysians are saying: Don't so l*n si lar. See what happen now?

Well I guess it's good to have a fresh change. Will the country be headed in a new direction? Is it for the better? Or for the worse? Will there even be any change other than the new faces that sit in the comfy chairs in the parliament? We'll just have to wait and see.

All we can do now is just pray and hope that the 2008 General Election would bring a better future for Malaysia. Maybe then less people would want to migrate?

In closing, I have one last thing to say: Samy lost! ROFL LMAO PWNED!

Broken Scar - Shooting Star

Support local music! I don't know why, but I really like the sound of the acoustic.
Here's Broken Scar with Shooting Star.
If you like it, maybe you can check out the blog too!

Just finished restringing my Jackson. Probably is a good idea to get some shut eye...

Role Call!

Just out of curiousity, do you read my blog? If you do, leave a comment. I just want to know who my readers are. And to make sure I'm not talking to myself.

Blog Elevator Music

What am I talking about? I'm talking about blogs with music playing in the background. I'm talking about their owners who seem to enjoy forcing their music taste down their readers' throats. I'm talking about those bloggers who seem to love wasting my bandwidth on songs I don't want to hear.
So be a dear and help me save a few cents on internet fees...

Or maybe I should just stop random blog surfing.

Quasimodo

What would you say if I said I like you?
What would you feel if I said I love you?
Would you feel disgusted?
Would you feel afraid?
Would you avoid me?
Would you abuse me?
Would you refuse me?
Would you reject me?
Would you throw that Valentine I gave you?
Would you tear up that letter I sent you?
Would you forget that song I sang for you?
Would you rip apart my heart I offered to you?

Are you just gonna watch me bleed as my heart bleeds for you?
Will you just let me die as I cry out to you?
What am I to you exactly, just tell me now?
I sick of all this pain, I can't take it anymore!
My back facing you, I walk away from you!
Goodbye Miss Esmerelda, I hate loving you!

JQ66 February 17th 2008

Sigh...

Will be heading to Australia again. Notice I didn't say heading back? Well I'm definitely not very ecstatic about the fact that I'm leaving Malaysia. The fact that I won't be seeing my friends and relatives for a while leaves me with an aching heart. The fact that I won't be able to eat my favourite foods leave me with a craving appetite.

Damn...

To all the Teddies, will miss you all. Well hope to see you all soon, but I'd probably won't see the UK ones until a very VERY long time. Hope to see Chuan Shen in Melbourne in a few months. Remember to spread GA propaganda before leaving!

To all my friends from church, that is if any of you read my blog, which I highly doubt, God bless you all and hope to see you all real soon. And I pray, while trying not to be corny, that your faith in God and Jesus will be your guiding light as we walk around in this mess of a place we call Earth.

To my Standard 1-3 classmates, namely Sean, forgive me for not keeping in touch! Sorry Sean! I feel like I've somewhat betrayed your trust. Some more you're like my first ever friend. What a terrible and hopeless friend I turned out to be. Hope to meet up when I'm back, that is if you're still in Malaysia.

To my other friends, be you from college or school or church, I really hope that you have a blessed life and the next time I see you on the road or in the mall, I can hear how you have experienced goodness and joy in your life, be it in your careers, family life, studies, and relationships.

With that I say: See ya punks in 10 months time!

Gong Xi Fa Cai 2008

I suppose I'm in some sense obliged to do a CNY post so here it goes.

Been reading some blogs and many people complain about how there's nothing to do when you're back in your hometown. There's no internet connection for some, while others are left to do nothing but sit eat and watch TV, me being one of them. Thank God for Astro too.

However one has to remember that how important the Chinese New Year should be. It's the only time that all our relatives can conveniently meet up and just get to know each other. To be able to just sit down and have a meal together is a luxury. Many of our mainland brethren are unable to go back to their hometowns this year. Many of our friends studying overseas would be too busy to celebrate the new year. For us, those living in Asian countries should delight in the fact that we have a holiday for Chinese New Year!

And be thankful if your grandparents are still alive and well and able to celebrate the new year together. Just to be able to receive that red packet from them, regardless of how little or how much they give you, is a blessing already. I really wish that my grandparents on my dad's side of the family are still alive. All I can do know is hear the stories that my aunts and uncles and my dad have to tell me about them. And not just your grandparents, but all your relatives. Be thankful that they're alive for you'd never know when their time comes to an end.

I don't want to be naggy, or at least to be more naggy than I already seem to be, so I shall end this issue of Jo's ramblings. Just want to wish all the people of the world a Happy Lunar New Year and may the new year mark the dawning of a hope and a future that would bring happiness and joy in your life.

Random Thought 1

Was sitting in front of Guess and the store display got me wondering...
What size clothing do mannequins wear?

Switchfoot Live In KL: The Aftermath

Switchfoot Live In KL
This is not a review.
It's been a while since I've been to a concert, not counting church concerts and the like. Anyway, the verdict? It was pretty good. I can't say awesome because well I didn't enjoy myself as much as I could have. It's just this annoying chick just pushes her way through and keeps pushing me until I keep leaning back and having to lean on my cousin for support lest I fall. The dude behind me was shouting excessively, and when it's time to jump and I jump, he pushes me. Sigh. At first I was pretty front, but at the end of the concert I was quite a distance away from my friends. Was pushed back. And to top it off, the concert started like an hour late. Typical of Malaysians... And I think Malaysians are easily starstrucked, and they'll like drool all over their shoes at the sight of a famous person. Lolz...

Ok now the music. First we had Love Me Butch opening. Well I guess LMB isn't for everybody. The crowd wasn't very responsive. And next up we had Altered Frequency. Frontman Andy really put up a great show. Well the joke was lame and I shan't repeat it, but all in all it was fun! When it was done Switchfoot were next. To be honest, I felt disheartened when a few people in the crowd were like asking the local acts to finish quicker so that Switchfoot could come on faster. It's quite saddening that very few people support the local music scene. Anyway, Switchfoot! Well the frontman Jon looked high. Lolz. Was pretty funny to watch. But they rocked hard. Real hard. I feel kinda ashamed for thinking that they weren't heavy enough.

All in all it was a great night. Hope to be able to go to more gigs like this.

Oh yeah, to the chick who got the SG, I love you-r guitar! Let's hook up? LOLZ...

Bullet For My Valentine: Scream Aim Fire

Saw this in Tower Records today. Tempted to buy, but alas it was not meant to be...

Anyway this is Bullet For My Valentine's latest album: Scream Aim Fire. Well to me, BMFV is great. Not too heavy, not too light. Just right, like Baby Bear's chair, porridge and bed. But I guess BMFV isn't for everyone.

Below is their latest single from the album which shares the same name with the album: Scream Aim Fire!

Want to watch the real music video? Click here!
Well I can't embed the actual music video so what's embedded is actually just the song.

Hair-y sad situation. My hairs left me for the saloon floor.

I cutted my hairs! And when I told myself I'm not going to cut it again until I come back from Australia. Well what's done is done. The verdict? I'm not satisfied. It's too puffy and spiky on the top. And I can't do anything about it as I'm not exactly familiar with using hair products. Oh well, all in all, I guess it was still worth my RM23.00. My only wish is for my fringe to grow longer faster.

Enough of all that hair obsession. Just use a cap to cover it.

Switchfoot Live In Malaysia

Finally got it. But to be honest, I'm looking forward to seeing Love Me Butch more than Switchfoot. Oh!

To those who are going, better start memorising lyrics so that you won't seem like you went to the wrong concert.

Insulted or Marginalised?

Saw Puan Noorliah today while dropping off the laundry at the dobby in SS14. She didn't recognize me, saying I was shorter and my hair wasn't as long. But somehow, I doubt she even remembers me. I feel brushed aside, but whatever.

Ate Pan Mee at SS19. Some guy came and asked for donation for a home and was selling Chinese New Year cards. When he went to our table where me, my mom and sisters were sitting, he addressed us as "siew che" or maam in cantonese. I was like: "Should I feel insulted or marginalised?" And mind you, I already got a hair cut. Did I mention that?

Weird day today is.

8/1/2008 - 16/1/2008

To those who miss me, well I'm back in Malaysia once again.

Would upload photos on my Vietnam/Siam Reap trip, but I have no means... So all I can say about the trip is Angkor Wat was cool, shooting with and AK-47 is cool, and crawling in Củ Chi Tunnels was cool. Other than that, Vietnam and Cambodia was just OK.

Call our family crazy, but after we touched down, we went straight to The Gardens. Got myself a pair of Clydes, drooled over some Evisus and after that we went to Jalan 222 to eat some Ah Hwa Hokkien Mee.

Now don't blame me if my post seems stupid and pointless, but it's for the sake of my friend Qi Hong who once upon a time complained that some of us don't update as often as he does.

Just kidding.

Just a few alphabets that form words that form sentences that form 2 paragraphs.

New Year Resolutions. We all make them don't we? And o how hard do we strive to keep them during the first week of the New Year, but just seem to forget all about it as we get more and more busy with our daily lives. But new year resolutions are nothing more than guidelines we set out for ourselves to change our bad habits and cultivate good ones, and we all know how hard it is to do that.

Regardless, let's venture into this New Year with a sense of empowerment and that we'd be able to break free from all our entanglements and leap across all those walls overshadow us and leave us in the dark.

Not as pro as JS. Duh~

Just some random pics after the rain. Only so few that can be considered ok...

Hiccups

I am not sure why but I had approximately 6 seperate cases of the hiccups today. 5 yesterday. Could it be my coughing, or the supplements I had to take because of the cough? Hmmm...

*Hiccup*

It's seriously driving me crazy, especially when all those remedies don't work but you still try them. This is like the first time I've had it in a year. And 2 days in a row?

*Hiccup*

STOP PLEASE?

*Hiccup*

Damn...

Jo's Wishlist V 1.0

Since Qi Hong made a Want List, I thought, why not I give it a shot?

1. Nike SB Takashi II Dunk Low

I mean what's there not to like about this pair of kicks? I just like the flowery pattern, gives it a sophisticated feel, without ruining the whole "It's a cool pair of sneakers" vibe, and then there's that silver swoosh!

2. Kiks Tyo Check My Kiks Tee

What better way to show off your new pair of sneakers with a shirt like this?

3. Kiks Tyo Christmas Set

Actually who wouldn't want to wear a tee with a hot model on it? Wait, don't answer. I might not like it. Actually this one isn't as nice as the previous Aki's but hey, hot model plastered all over my shirt, good enough for me!

4. HOKKIEN MEE
This is actually what I'm craving for THE MOST!

[Insert Intelligent Title]

Canberra certainly has so few hot chicks/attractive females (Choose the one that is the least degrading or most appealing to you). Everybody says so. And it was very apparent today. They probably say the same thing about guys but that doesn't really concern me now does it? Anyway went to Sydney today with my parents. Didn't do much. Just ate Dim Sum and walked a bit. Pass by Espionage, wanting to buy a new pair of sneakers.... And saw a really hot asian chick. If you were in Sydney on 22 November 2007 wearing a light green top and fishnet stockings and had great hair, please leave me a message. I want to know how you got your hair to look like it did. LOLZ. Anyway back to Earth. Wait. Nothing interesting happens on earth. LALALA~

Another random and useless post by yours truly.

Should I get a job?

Farewell G204

As I left my room on Sunday, seeing my room empty and clean just as it was 9 months back, I kinda felt weird. It's weird knowing that you'll never see the same view from that window again, or to hear the loud engine of the rubbish truck at 3 in the morning. I'm really gonna miss that room... I feel sad. =.="

Looking forward to the holidays ahead!

Trying to learn to read newspapers ( Don't be surprised. I can't read newspapers properly!) and financial magazines.

STAT2001, have mercy...

3 Hours to D-Day. Need to stay alive. Wonder if the Starbucks helps... God help me...

Update:

Half an hour to midnight. Reading time starts at 9.15am. And I'm seriously f*cked. I thought I could cover everything I need by today, but I still haven't. Time is running out and I think probability of failing for me is seriously high. But probably failing a subject is what I need right about now. Life has no discipline, no bounds, no structure. Studying without those limits is just impossible for me. Probably after failing this paper, I'll be able to be more focus, and have more drive and motivation so that I won't repeat this ever again. Sometimes in life, you just have to fall only to know what it's like to stand back up again. However, all this words that are coming out of my mouth, are they just to justify the lack of motivation and ambition I have in my life? Are they just the morphine to the pain and suffering that I have to face if I fail this paper? Is it to give a reason as to why me or my parents shouldn't feel ashamed and disgraced at this failure?

You're probably thinking, why the hell are you typing all of this when you could be studying you dumbf*ck? Well like how you described me, I'm not very wise at times. And all this while, my whole entire life, I don't think I can honestly say I have worked hard for anything in life.

Oh well, screw all this bullshit. I think I'll just concentrate on passing tomorrows paper and get on with my life. If I fail, well I'll just have to waste an elective on this same course next year.

Please forgive my repulsive language. It is utterly disgraceful and distasteful, I have to admit. But even writers are allowed to express themselves in this undignified manner, so I don't see why I can't too.

Update 2:
Just came back from the exam, and I can only think of one word: "SHIT!" I think everyone in the hall was thinking of that word as well, or somewhere along those lines.

At least it's over.
